Project WET is a FREE water education program for educators and young people ages 5-18. The program facilitates and promotes awareness, appreciation, knowledge, and stewardship of water resources through the dissemination of classroom-ready teaching aids and the establishment of internationally sponsored Project WET programs. Project WILD links students and wildlife through its mission to provide wildlife-based conservation and environmental education that fosters responsible actions toward wildlife and related natural resources. Time will be scheduled on each day to create and discuss NYS curriculum linkages and implementation strategies based on the acivities covered.

Geometers' Sketchpad

Call today for training at your school

Taught by Bob Hazen

Sketchpad™ is a dynamic construction and exploration tool that enables students to explore and understand mathematics in ways that are simply not possible with traditional tools—or with other mathematics software programs. Effective with students from grade 5 through college, Sketchpad brings its full dynamic power to the study of Euclidean and non-Euclidean geometries, algebra, trigonometry, precalculus, and calculus. And Sketchpad's dynamic, visual approach allows younger students to develop the concrete foundation they need to move ahead to more advanced levels of study.

What to Expect at an
Energy Smart Students Workshop

Come prepared to have fun and learn in a collaborative, hands-on setting. The workshops will include sections on the basic science of energy, the 10 major energy sources used in the U.S., and energy efficiency.

We will explore these topics using hands-on kits, games, and other activities. Teachers will even have a chance to participate in an energy audit of the host facility. In addition, participants will be able to view all of the NEED materials and a sample of kits available through this program.

Teachers who attend will receive a membership packet with classroom activities and qualify to order additional materials and kits from an order form provided at the workshop. Some workshops will include energy-related guest speakers from the region.

To Register, or call 1-800-836-7510 ext 3757.
